It's probably safe to assume that all of us attended summer camp at one time or another when
we were younger. Summer camp was all about the experiences, the friends and the lifelong
memories. Now, Imagine being a young person in a wheelchair or with a physical disability
that makes attending summer camp a virtual impossiblity. That's what
Camp Hope
is all about!
A camp that is totally wheelchair accessible and
designed to meet the needs of those with physical disabilities, giving these young people
that chance the to have the experience of a lifetime and to create their own memories.
Whitney Hope established our first Camp Hope in Southern California on August 4-10, 2002 at Forest Home at Rancho del Rey. The camp was a huge success and now we are beginning the plans for next years camp! We look forward to bringing 35-40 young people with various physical disabilities along with their parents and siblings to one week of camp. Many of these families are financially unable to pay for the cost of this camp.
That is why we come to you today . . . Would you consider helping by financially SPONSORING all or a part of the funds needed for a camper to attend Camp Attitude in Foster, Oregon this summer? We need lots of people who will sacrificially give to this cause. The cost is $475.00 per camper, so whatever you feel led to give would be a wonderful gift and give a physically challenged young person the opportunity to experience summer camp.
