Last summer we were calling it Camp Attitude, this summer it takes on a new name . . . Camp Hope. The name is new, but it is still Whitney Hope making the camp a reality for the second year in a row.
We are very excited for this summer's Camp Hope. We are now in the process for four camps to take place this summer!
Camp Hope in Santa Barbara, CA will take place on June 24-27. We are renting the facilities of Rancho Oso Camp Grounds, near Lake Cachuma. It is a beautiful site, with its Western town atmosphere. This camp has all of the special features we had last year, with the addition of a horse facility which will facilitate our program for disabled children.
Two additional camps will take place in the Eastern European country of Latvia. This nation was formerly a Soviet State, however they received their independence in 1991. Whitney Hope will be facilitating the two camps in two different orphanages with the tentative dates being August 2-15. Mark will be leaving March 30th for a 10 day trip to Latvia for setting up the camps and training 35+ Latvian volunteers. This will be very exciting! Mark will have some new updates in regards to these camps.
A team of U.S. volunteers will be selected in the next few weeks. If you would like to be involved in these Latvia Camp Hope Disability trips, please call our offices and speak with Mark at 805.658.1185.
A fourth camp will take place in the San Diego area. We are still conversing with two camps in regards to their availability. We will have the final information on this camp March 15th.
Be watching our Whitney Hope Foundation website for further updates.
