Whitney Hope Foundation is grateful for Cars 4 Causes and their desire to come to the aid to the ministry of Whitney Hope Foundation. Cars 4 Causes has a great heart for the needs of Whitney Hope Foundation and are committed to doing their part to meet those needs.
Cars 4 Causes recently donated a beautiful fully equipped 98 Dodge Caravan to a family of Whitney Hope Foundation. It is such a privilege to hand over the keys to a family that really had a transportation crisis. That family is Dean & Kim Brower of Ventura, CA. You may have read about their son Billy featured on our website’s Spotlight Story. So much has happened to them since they made that call asking if they could come to our camp last summer. Well, their lives have been dramatically changed, and they are a major part of our ministry.
Their '84 disability Van had many complications, and finally came to a rest the last week of February. Unable to transport their son Billy, who is in a wheelchair, their needs were huge. Dean the father had been out of work since March 7th, 2002 and their monies were running out...there was no hope to purchase a wheelchair accessible van without a job. Both of Billy’s parents were discouraged but had not lost HOPE.
Their prayers were answered on March 7th, 2003! Cars 4 Causes had just received a fully accessible van with 5,000 actual miles. On the wall of Cars 4 Causes is a picture of Billy escorting his favorite horse Garth down a path to begin his weekly "riding program" that Whitney Hope provides under the direction of Pam Dutton, our horsemanship director. Thanks to Dave & Val Lagesse of Angel Haven Ranch and our many volunteers to this program as it grows, and Billy is our first member for our horsemanship program.
Pat Jessup, the director of the Cars 4 Causes car program, called the Whitney Hope Foundation and said the wheelchair accessible van was ready to pick up and donate the vehicle to a family in need. The Brower family became the recipient of that van...and their lives were totally blessed by the gift. We at the Whitney Hope Foundation are excited and honored that Cars 4 Causes has wanted to donate to our organization and they made the difference in the lives of the Brower Family.
Oh yeah...one more thing that happened that same weekend, Dean (Billy's Dad) qualified for a job and is now working every day. That is exciting news!
