Dear Family and Friends,
Wednesday brought about more change for Dan! Now that Dan doesn’t require constant monitoring any longer, he has
been moved to a first floor room in the Rehabilitation Facility. (If you’re coming to visit, this is at the front of the hospital, which
faces Bascom Avenue) Unfortunately
this also means sharing a room with 2 other people…please continue to pray for
patience.
In physical therapy Dan laid on a table with his legs hanging, bent at the knees
and he lifted his left leg! Praise
the Lord for daily progress!! In less than 3 weeks he has gained movement in his
right leg, right foot, right arm, right hand, 3 fingers on his right hand,
shoulders and slight movement in his left leg! His right leg and foot continue to grow
stronger daily in addition to his
right arm, hand and shoulders.
On Thursday Dan stood (after being helped to a standing position) again in
physical therapy! In his morning
and afternoon physical therapy sessions he stood for 1 minute each!! He experienced dizziness again, but Darrell, the therapist reminded Dan
and Candi that was normal – he IS making progress!
Dan is VERY anxious to go home! Candi is checking into moving Dan home to continue his
physical therapy and rehabilitation. If
you know someone in the area that specializes in spinal cord injuries and
physical therapy and might be willing to provide physical therapy for Dan at his
house in Scotts Valley, please send an e-mail to any of the e-mail links
provided.
Thank you
for your ongoing encouragement, support and prayers!
