The month of December has been an interesting one. My Baclofen pump catheter popped out of my spine. (The Baclofen pump automatically spits medicine into the lower part of my spine to relax the spasms in my left leg). I'm not sure, but it may have been the Bumper Cars at the Boardwalk I went on for Dani's birthday. Oops!

I was admitted the next day to the Hospital for surgery to reattach the catheter. The surgery did not go as well as we wanted. The catheter got pushed up against some scar tissue in my spine and the medicine would not release correctly. We kept increasing the medicine and still no result. On Christmas Eve, I had a negative reaction to the withdrawal of the medicine and my chest tightened to the point where I couldn't breathe. I was taken by ambulance to the Emergency Room and the Doctor told us it was the Baclofen. I did get to go home that night and was at home for Christmas morning. There was no way I was going to miss my kids opening presents this year.

My left ankle twisted to a 45 degree angle and it became extremely difficult to walk. I was admitted to the hospital again on the 3rd of January and ended up having surgery on the 6th. The catheter was cut and reinserted into my spine. Success! My ankle released and I was able to walk again the very next day. The best part was that I did not get a spinal headache as I did previously. There's a silver lining in everything!

Thank you for all the prayers. We've received some notes of encouragement that we will keep forever.
