January 17, 2001
Dear Family and Friends,
Another eventful day in Dan’s life! Dan
was happy to have Darrell, his regular physical therapist, back on Tuesday to
motivate and work with him. During
his physical therapy session, Dan was able to start curling his fingers into a
fist on his left hand! He continues
to gain strength every day! Please
continue to pray that the right physical therapist will be found to work with
Dan at home.
Tuesday evening Dan and two other spinal cord patients were taken by van to the
Outback Steak House for dinner. A family member joined each patient at the restaurant, along
with 2 physical therapists and one occupational therapist. Candi said it was a great evening of fun for everyone with
Dan being in true form! (Would we
expect anything less from Dan?)
Dan and Candi are still looking forward to January 26 for Dan to go home. Please pray for strength for Candi! She is currently receiving training at the hospital for caring for Dan at
home. She will also need to be able
to talk another person through the care. Many preparations need to be accomplished before Friday, the 26th.
Please pray that all the arrangements and paperwork will be
completed by then.
The room situation is going really well, but another person has been put into
the room. Adding a third
personality to the room could be somewhat stressful so please continue to pray
for patience!
Thank you all for your prayers!
