The other night I was at work when I heard some loud screeching noises outside. I assumed it was some teenagers doing some 360's in their first car. I shook my head and laughed. Ah to be young again!
As I entered the parking lot, I noticed a couple yelling at each other. The screeching I had heard was a van that was driven by one of them and was now parked blocking the exit. I listened as I locked the door behind me and wanted to be sure there was no physical fighting going on. I was ready to approach them if there was. (Now what do you think I was going to do with only one good arm and leg?) They were yelling stuff like "Your mom!" and "You never listen to me!". All I knew was they were not happy
As I approached the exit, the girl quit arguing and went to move the auto. As she backed up, I turned the corner and rolled down my window. I asked the guy "Everything ok?" He was visibly upset. He walked up to the window and said "She is out of her mind!" Long story short, we began talking about a variety of things and eventually we discussed my accident. At the end of our conversation he suggested to me that maybe what he and his new bride were arguing about was not such a big deal after all. I watched him walk over to the van, get in and give his wife a long hug and they drove off.
Now please do not see this as a story about Dan. This is a story about you. Your gifts and
prayers are what have allowed me to progress to where I am today. Almost everyday, I
find myself speaking with some individual that wants to know what has happened to me and
how in the world I could be walking. My response is always "I have some incredible friends
that prayed for me."
Please, please, please do not for one second think that I have forgotten about all of you
that brought me and my family through an incredibly tough time. I thank God everyday for
the second chance that I have been given and I will never forget your kindness. Never!
I NEED YOUR PRAYERS!! I will be getting Botox shots this week which will hopefully loosen up my left arm. Thus far, my body has not responded in a positive manner to any medicine and my last surgery was probably more preemptive rather than a cure. Than you for continuing down this road with me and my family.
All the very best!
Dan
