Dan had good news and some
bad news today. The
good/great/awesome news was he moved his right wrist, thumb, and forefinger for
the first time! Candi could hardly
contain her joy at seeing that physical therapy session! What an answer to prayer! We’re
still looking for significant movement on Dan’s left side. The best seems to be the hip flexors on that side. Please pray for movement and strength on his left side and praise the
Lord for what he has given Dan on his right side.
The bad news was the fact that he won’t get the ventilator tube out for at
least three more days. The tube
that goes into his nose and down behind his throat, is making his throat
extremely sore. It also prevents
him from talking. He did go 5 hours
on the “t-tube” today, which is what he uses to practice breathing on his
own. Unfortunately Dan is getting
extremely tired breathing on his own, so we again have to ask for NO
VISITORS UNTIL HE GETS STRONGER. Right
now we want him to focus all of his energy on getting stronger.
Dan was also disappointed that he didn’t get out of his rotating bed today. They have promised that a guy will be here at 8:30 am to fit him in the
vest which will hold his “halo” in place so he can sit up, get into a
regular hospital bed, and sit in a wheelchair. We’ll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
Dan continues to enjoy your e-mails. Thank
You! Most of all, thank you for all
of your support and prayers.
A very special friend, who does not consider herself a Bible
scholar, was excited to share these verses with Dan and Candi – Hebrews
12:12-13 “Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but
rather healed.”
