Last week (August 1), I spoke at the 2001 Camp Attitude in Oregon. After speaking, I stayed around the camp to spend time with the kids. It was an incredible experience that taught me a lot about myself and how fortunate I really am. Camp Attitude has changed my life.

I met with boy named Kevin that is paralyzed from the nose down. Kevin has a rare disease that was discovered at the age of 3 months. Kevin was given 6 months to live. Kevin is now 17 years old. My situation began to feel pretty meek.

I also met Bob and Donna King. They have adopted 8 children, all with disabilities. In additon there are 3 older biological children. I watched their children and they all looked happy, but more impotantly, they looked loved. Bob and Donna are currently trying to adopt a 12th child. The whole time I was there, I didn't see Bob or Donna complete a full meal. But, you would never know it.

The list of incredible stories go on. Every child had a special story behind them and none were greater than the other. I went there as a guest to speak and teach and I guarantee I was the one who learned many lessons. (check out the attached pics)

If I was pumped before, I am double pumped now. Whitney Hope is going to help in encouraging many lives because of people like you. We're gonna make Camp Attitude a reality in CA...I know it.

By the way, I am using my left arm more and more each day and my walking is becoming less and less like the Monster Mash. :-)

I Love You Guys,

Dan
